Happy Fathers Day to all of dad's out there, but today I just want to say a special I love you to some of the men in our life! I'm so blessed to have an amazing dad who loves me no matter what, and who I love more and more as the years go by. He is such an amazing father who loves his children well and has taught us more about life than he realizes! My sister, brother and I are so blessed to have Marty Hawks as a Dad.
Joe and his brother Jim are also very luck to have a dad who is part of their life. "Big Jim" as I call him (since Joe's brother is Jim too!) is always kind and so giving to us. We are so grateful to have time with him since he doesn't live to far away. Thank you for being apart of our lives!
I also want to say a word about our Grandfathers. We are both pretty close to both of our grandfathers and consider ourselves very lucky to have them in our life. They are men who love their family, and and love each of us in a special way. We cherish every minute we have with them. They always make us smile and let us know how thankful they are for us. We are so blessed to have them in our lives. We love you Carl Markey and Freddy Bengtson!
And one last shout out to Neil Morgan....a new dad this year. My brother in law became a dad this year to my nephew Fletcher . Neil is loving fatherhood and I am so proud of how well he has adjusted to all that comes with it. There is no doubt that he will raise baby Fletcher in a Godly home and teach him all that he can.
Happy Fathers day to so many other men we know and love. You are all so special to Joe and I and we can't imagine our lives without you!

It is on this vacation that I plan to get some writing done and share with you all the wonderful things that God has been doing in our lives. Until then you might not hear too much from me as I will be cleaning, packing, cooking, shopping and doing everything else that needs to get done before I can go anywhere.......here's hoping I get it all done! A Day Away!
This past weekend Joe surprised me and took me away to Vermont for the day. What a good husband I have!! It was a much needed trip away from the everyday grind. We were in desperate need of some time to reconnect and the trip up was just the ticket. We left the house bright and early and before we knew it we were already there. We started the day off with a drive through Smugglers Notch. It is so beautiful and if you ever have the chance you should totally check it out. We spent some time in the town where some of Joe's family is from. He used to spend summers there as a child, it was fun to see his old stomping grounds.
After a trip back through the notch we headed through Stowe, Vt. It is a town known for skiing and has many beautiful resorts, B&B's, lots of shopping and great restaurants. We stopped there for a very yummy lunch and a walk down main street and through the local shops. After time spent in Stowe we headed to Waterbury, home of Ben & Jerry's. We took some time to stop at the Cider Mill (which we LOVE), I had a ball at an antic store that I could have stayed in all day, and of course we headed to Ben & Jerry's to end the day. We took sever pics to share and we hope that you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed spending the day together.
